Anupamaa star Rupali Ganguly gets called ‘controlling and psychotic’ by stepdaughter Esha Verma; husband Ashwin K Verma comes to her defend

Rupali Ganguly has found herself amid controversy following the resurfacing of a 2020 Facebook post from her stepdaughter, Esha Verma and husband, Ashwin K Verma defending the actress. It post accuses Rupali of being cruel and controlling. The post has attracted renewed media attention. Many outlets reported on Esha’s claims that Rupali played a detrimental role in her parents’ separation. And it was due to a long-standing affair.

Esha Verma, the younger daughter of Ashwin K Verma whose present partner is Rupali Ganguly, stated, “This is absolutely pathetic. Does anyone know the real story of Rupali Ganguly? She has had an affair with Ashwin K Verma for twelve years while he was in his second marriage. She is nothing but a cruel-hearted woman who has tried to separate me and my sister from their father.”

Esha further criticized Rupali for portraying their marriage as happy in the media, saying, “She’s controlling and psychotic towards him. Whenever I try to call my father, she yells and screams death threats to me and my mother. It’s not fair that she ruined the lives of Ashwin’s real family while publicizing their true love marriage when in reality she’s destroyed others to get what she wants.”

Esha Verma is now 26 and residing in New Jersey, confirmed that the post was indeed hers. In a recent interview, she expressed that while it feels overwhelming to see her words go viral. She’s glad the truth is being highlighted. “Things with Rupali have not improved; she’s just the mother of my brother, and that’s about it.”

Interestingly, despite the previous post, Esha shared a seemingly pleasant picture featuring her father and Rupali. She explained this photo as the bare minimum. She stated, “I posted the picture to show that I’m related to both of them, although neither my father nor Rupali acknowledges me as family. Meeting my dad again after five years was a blessing. But my father hasn’t been in my life since I was eight years old. It hurts to see them appear as a happy family while he left his other family behind.”

Ashwin Verma addresses the controversy

Attempts to contact Rupali for a response to the controversy have not yielded results. In response to the resurfaced allegations, Ashwin Verma addressed the situation on Instagram. He noted that Esha is understandably hurt by the separation of her parents. He acknowledged the controversy with a post on his Twitter now X account.

Esha reacted to her father’s statement with disappointment. She said, “It’s heartbreaking to see him portray the situation as simply my hurt feelings when the reality is much more complex.”
